My baby's, Alicia, 29th Birthday

You know, God is Great!  When I was 28, I gave birth to a baby girl.  At that time, my OB took tests that didn't show up positive until I was 4 months pregnant.  My body felt pregnant, and I had a little bump, but negative pregnancy tests.  She has truly been a blessing to our family.  She is a Godly woman, kind, thoughtful, loving and fun.
Today is her 29th Birthday, and I thank the Lord everyday for giving her to us for a daughter.  Love you Alicia.  Mom

Oh yeah, I got my tree skirt all cut out, and am glueing it now.

Rainy Day

This year my Hubby and I are celebrating Christmas in a home half the size of our last home.  Oh boy, I am also trying to make a decision what to keep and what to offer the girls.  This is much more difficult than I thought it would be.  I just can't seem to finish anything I start! lol That, is nothing new.  The tree has been up a week and I only have about half of the ornaments on it, I will finish that today.  I also need a new tree skirt.  I had a beautiful silk patchwork one that I bought in the early '80s, but, 3 years ago our 2 kitties were dying, and I let them sleep on it, and it got so bad we threw it out.  I have a bunch of linen and burlap, velvet, you name it, it is in a box somewhere.  But, my husband has both of my glue guns at his office an hour away, and he keeps forgetting it.  Like I can't just go to Walmart and buy a new one!  There lies the crux of my decorating not getting done.  I would rather sit here and look at what everybody else is doing.  I love looking at everybodies  different ways of decorating, so different, but so fun and pretty.
I guess I'll put my boots on and run over to Walmart.  Have a great day.

What a difference a computer makes

When I got married 34 yrs ago, we had to drive to the few bridal shops they had in Orange County.  For my daughter's wedding, I spent the better part of a day on my computer and cell phone, making appointments for Wedding Venues (2), Bridal Shops (2), and of course, lunch.  Tomorrow, Monday, I will leave my home, and drive at least an hour to her apartment, that is if the traffic is good. lol yeah right, I have to go into Orange County.  Then when we finish up at about 7-8pm I will drive back home.  I love where we live.  I was born and raised in OC, and lived there until Dec. 2010.  It went from a pokey town, where we could walk home from the movies after dark (oh no!) to a crazy traffic mess in my time there.  Of course I will have my handy computer and phone with me, so if any additional duties come up we will be set to go.  My daughter has the latest iPhone, she is just so up on things, lol.  Will keep all posted.  Have a great week.

Wedding

Our youngest daughter and her fiancee are getting married. Yippee  I can't believe how stressed out I am.  I don't even need to be.  She would like to get married in May 2012, so we have plenty of time.  And I am not the type of person who can turn this event over to a wedding planner, no, not me, I have to do it myself so that it is just right. lol  No seriously, I am a bit OCD when it comes to my family and home.  She is coming out on Sunday evening so that we can look through bridal magazines and dueling computers.
I know all will fall into place.

Newbie

I have to say that I am new to blogging, although, I have been journaling for 20 years (just mundane, daily stuff).  I have always been one to do my own decorating, painting, moulding, electrical, you name it, I have done it.  I even have my own power tools, yeah, and a nail gun.  love my tools!
I not only like to decorate, I like to cook, sew Renaissance clothing, Glamping (I have a '67 birchwood Field and Stream 13 footer).
I am married to my best friend, we have known each other since we were 13, and married in 1977.  We have two lovely adult daughters, with fiancee's, but no babies.
We just, in Dec 10, sold our big house and moved to a wonderful country club development.  We went from 3400 sq ft to 1500 sq ft.  It has been quite a change, but we were lonely in our big house, so this has worked out wonderfully for my hubby and me. Oh, and Lily, our cat!
I hope to do this blog the right way, I read about 10 other blogs a day, and have learned new techniques, and products.
So, Welcome to my blog, I'm glad you visited.
