Refinishing Bathroom Cabinet

Ok, first of all, no pictures.  I'm sorry.  Tuesday I decided that I was going to refinish the bathroom cabinet.  It has 4 center drawers and double cabinets under the two sinks.  I am using my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  The cupboards were painted an incredibly ugly green.  And I like green.  So far, the 4 drawer fronts are finished, yeah, painted and waxed.  I am painting the doors, did the insides yesterday, 2 coats each=4.  As I write, I have just put the first coat of the paint on the fronts.(I'm taking a break)  I have chosen graphite with a dark paste.  It is really turning out nice.  I already painted the walls SW Oyster Bay.  I have nickel pulls and knobs from my stash.  And will be using aqua/green for accents.  I WILL PUT UP PICTURES.  I promise.  Need to get back.  I might even get to start waxing them today.  Next the cabinet.

  5. Hi Paula...your comment on my post just popped up and I am thrilled you made the soup. Over the years so many people have told me that same thing over and over. But heres the whole story. I'm wonderfing if I should have put this in my blog post.

A friend gave me the original recipe about 40 years ago and it called for about 9 large potatoes peeled and cut, plus carrots that you peeled and sliced, sliced celery, chopped onion, 1/2 lb. bacon that you had to fry until crisp, chop the parsley etc. etc. etc. Well it was entirely too much work and preparation because you had to then cut it all, cook it etc. It was just plain too time consuming. My time was at a premium with a large family. So.... a several years ago I made my up own version by just using frozen and dehydrated products and real bottled bacon bits and could make it in 20 minutes. And it tasted exactly the same. I just streamlined it to make it faster, easier and still have the great taste. I have told people they could put ham in it or whatever. The real secret of it is the sour cream and the touch of vinegar. Thats what is the real deciding factor of flavor that makes this soup so different. As I've gotten older I like to streamline recipes if possible. Some cannot be done but things like this soup and others can. Thank goodness.

THANKYOU for coming to my blog and taking the time to comment. And for especially making it. That is the highest compliment that can be made. I do hope you can come back often. How did you find me? I'd love to know.

    Thanks again Paula,

    Nann

  9. Hi
Thank you for your suggestions for the use of my unique gift. Wow! You are a very busy person. I read your blog and loved how you describe OC in the old days. I was raised in Santa Clara County in the 50's, and what a difference it is today. Thanks again for visiting My Cozy Corner.
